ABOUT US

OUR PASTOR
Hello! I’m Pastor Susan Jennys, and it’s my privilege to serve as pastor of Chester United Methodist Church.
Our church is a community of people who love Jesus, care about one another, and want to live out our faith in practical ways. Whether you’ve attended church for years or you’re just beginning to explore faith, you are welcome here.
On Sundays, our worship includes hymns, scripture readings, prayer, and a message designed to connect God’s Word to everyday life. If you’re visiting for the first time, you don’t need to “know what to do” — simply come as you are and we’ll help you feel at home.
Service begins Sundays at 10:45 AM and typically lasts about one hour. Parking is available on the street as well as in the side lot. Children begin in worship and are invited to participate in kids church during the service, and we also have a youth group.
Pastor Susan is a graduate of Grace College (Winona Lake, Indiana) and completed the United Methodist Course of Study through Garrett Seminary (Evanston, Illinois).
If you have questions before visiting, want prayer, or would like to talk with someone, please reach out — we’d love to connect.
CORE VALUES
At Chester United Methodist Church, our values guide how we worship, serve, and relate to one another:
Welcome and hospitality
We want every person — regardless of background, questions, or stage of life — to feel genuinely welcomed and respected.
Christ-centered worship
Our worship is rooted in scripture, prayer, and the good news of Jesus Christ.
Spiritual growth
We believe faith is meant to grow. We encourage learning, discipleship, and living out God’s Word in everyday life.
Caring community
We seek to support one another in both joyful and difficult seasons through encouragement, prayer, and practical help.
Service and mission
We are committed to serving our neighbors and caring for our community with compassion, generosity, and humility.
Integrity and stewardship
We strive to live with honesty and gratitude, using our time, resources, and gifts in ways that honor God.
Hope and encouragement
We want to be a steady source of hope — a place where people can find strength, peace, and purpose through faith.

OUR STORY
Chester United Methodist Church has been part of the Chester community for generations. Through the years, our church has served as a place for worship, friendship, and faithful service, a place where people gather to celebrate, grieve, grow, and support one another.
We are thankful for the members and leaders who built a strong foundation of faith here, and we continue that legacy today by staying rooted in scripture, committed to worship, and engaged in caring for our neighbors.
No matter where you are on your faith journey whether you’ve been in church your whole life or you’re visiting for the first time — you are welcome here. We would be honored to meet you and have you join us for worship.
